David Sedaris is an author that is funny, whimsical, strange, witty, and dark all at the same time. His series of Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, and Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim consists of manuscripts about his crazy family over the years. For each cover, I thought it was appropriate to show the character in his family that was talked about the most within that book. I wanted to draw them in the way that Sedaris makes you feel when reading his stories. Each of these characters are then drawn into a cameo and place on a background of old wallpaper to allude to the feeling of a creepy family portrait. David Sedaris is quite the character, and I hope people get that feeling when looking at this trilogy.
